Bought the kit for an oak chair whose legs and caster sockets were broken and unrepairable. This kit fit the bill, and simply required removing 4 screws, detaching the old unit, and then screwing this kit into place. I did need to add 4 fender washers because the heads on the original screws weren't quite wide enough to completely hold this kit in place, but that was a minor distraction that was easily remedied.

Repairing my chair instead of replacing it saved me twice what I spent on parts. Although there were no instructions, assembly could not have been easier.

Product was assembled to an old office chair over 20 years old and worked perfectly. Would have helped if vertical dimensions had been shown in the picture on eChair's website. This would have provided some assurance of its being able to match the existing hardware heights of the old chairs. I am ordering 3 more and waiting for a delivery date at this time.

Got the parts in this week and they were a perfect match. It was just a matter of removing the broken parts and replacing with these.

parts were easy to assemble but instructions don't match product

This is the second base unit we purchased -- the first one also from e-chairs, and installed and used for nearly 3 years. I think the user inadvertantly did something when making a chair adjustment that caused it to break. But we re-ordered and received a replacement which is now installed and it too works fine. I called the company to ask about the replacement unit since I didn't see it on the website and he advised me how to order the same base unit.

This part fitted perfectly the chair and prevented me of buying a new one.
