I've a Chromcraft office chair from 1998 that is not manufactured anymore and the tilt lock mechanism on the chair was worn out. For a few years, the chair felt unstable to sit on and the original tilt lock mechanism is not available anymore. I sent some pictures over to eChairParts and David called me to discuss in detail as to how this tilt mechanism could be used along with a piece of plywood attached to it. He sent me all the related parts (t-nuts, black cloth, washers etc.) to create the plywood base to fit the chair and the tilt lock mechanism. I appreciate David for all the pains he took to explain the process. I would have junked the chair if not for him offering his suggestions and expertise. I'm sitting on the chair with this tilt mechanism in place and writing this review.
I would recommend this site to anyone that likes working and restoring chairs. Additionally, you get David's expertise and guidance free of charge. Much appreciated David!!!!
